November RECYCLING MONTH- Its time to start the competition!
November is the month of recycling in our school. So as part of the environmental strand, we started this November a campaign which will promote recycling not only in school but also in our homes. We are doing certain activities that will involve the whole secondary section of our school. The first activity we last week is the Recycling Competition. This consists of a competition in which consists of the recollection of recyclable materials like paper, cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles. Each year group is participating in the competition and the winner will be the one that collects the most recyclable materials. We will be collecting the materials on the mornings every Friday of this month, we collect it until Friday so people have the opportunity to collect the recycling materials throughout the week. Last Friday was our first day of collection and students did a great job. Our method of collection is simple: we are recording the amount of paper brought by cm and we are counting the plastic and glass bottles and cans by units. We record the amounts collected and the last Friday of this November we will come with a winner. The purpose of this competition is to encourage people to recycle at home and make this a habit. We are sure that we are starting to create an impact on students.
